Tired of mowing your lawn? Come learn how to transform it into a lush, blooming meadow of flowers, waving grasses and bird habitat!

Using native habitat inspiration as our guide we will discover how to let our lush natural grasses grow in harmony with a cycling chorus of bulbs and perennials: iris, echinacea, angelica, bergamot, astilbe. A host of incredible low-maintenance plants will guide us in transforming what was once a suffering, compacted lawn into a tempting wildflower oasis.

Learn how to:

  • Establish a dynamic garden within an existing lawn using bulbs & seeds
  • Develop a color palette that compliments itself and your home
  • Plan a blooming cycle that lasts the whole growing season
  • Plant in natural patterns to create an awe-inspiring feel
  • Balance shapes and forms for a controlled yet natural look
  • Support pollinators and beneficial insects
  • Intersperse edible, medicinal and soil-improving plants
  • Balance your soil to support the plants you want and discourage those you don't

In this course we will study and emulate the contemporary designing methods of renowned landscape architect Piet Oudolf & Noel Kingsbury alongside our consistent Permaculture ethics & practices. We will get hands-on experience creating and installing a design at the entrance to one of the perfect times of year for planting one: the fall bulb cycle.
